A request must identify the record or decision concerned and the precise outcome sought.
Factual correction
Use this route for spelling, identity, country, title, reference or other objectively verifiable errors. Provide the register or certificate reference and reliable supporting material.
Assessment review
A review considers whether the published framework was applied to the dossier, whether a material item was overlooked or whether a disclosed conflict affected the process. It is not a fresh entry and does not replace missing evidence that could reasonably have been supplied earlier.
Complaint
A complaint may concern communication, delay, confidentiality, accessibility, conflicts, staff or reviewer conduct, or misuse of an IBA mark. State the events, the people or records involved, any prior contact and the remedy requested.
Handling and independence
The request is assigned to a person who was not solely responsible for the matter complained of where practicable. Relevant records are preserved, affected parties may be asked for information, and the outcome is recorded with reasons.
Public record changes
A correction preserves the relationship between the original and corrected record. A suspension or revocation is shown in the register where necessary to prevent a misleading active claim. Private correspondence is not published merely because a record changes.
