About IBA

About the IBA Recognition Framework

International Beauty Awards™ ("IBA," "we," "our," or "us") is an international beauty recognition platform that honors achievement across beauty professionals, brands, products, salons, centers, manufacturers, supply chain companies, and industry service organizations.

IBA recognition is an award-based honor within the International Beauty Awards™ framework. It is based on submitted materials, category relevance, public references where available, professional context, and review administration.

IBA recognition does not constitute laboratory testing, regulatory approval, clinical validation, medical endorsement, product efficacy certification, professional licensing, legal compliance certification, or government approval.

Entry

Eligibility and Entry Requirements

Applicants may submit entries in the recognition fields made available by IBA. Each entry should have one primary subject of recognition.

Recognition fields may include:

  • Beauty Professionals
  • Beauty Brands
  • Beauty Products
  • Beauty Salons & Centers
  • Beauty Supply Chain & Manufacturing
  • Beauty Industry Services & Enablement

Applicants are responsible for selecting the most appropriate recognition field. IBA may request clarification or recommend field adjustment where appropriate.

IBA reserves the right to accept, reject, reclassify, delay, suspend, or remove entries that are incomplete, inaccurate, misleading, inappropriate, unlawful, or inconsistent with IBA standards.

Applicant Responsibility

Information and Materials Submitted by Applicants

Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all submitted information, materials, images, logos, documents, claims, public links, product descriptions, credentials, references, testimonials, and supporting materials are accurate, lawful, authorized, and not misleading.

Applicants confirm that they have the right to submit and authorize use of any materials provided to IBA.

Applicants must not submit materials that:

  • Infringe intellectual property rights;
  • Violate privacy or publicity rights;
  • Contain false or misleading claims;
  • Imply unsupported medical, regulatory, legal, clinical, or certification claims;
  • Contain unlawful, offensive, discriminatory, defamatory, or inappropriate content;
  • Misrepresent affiliations, endorsements, partnerships, or approvals.

Fees

Entry Fees, Service Fees, and Payments

IBA may charge entry fees, administrative fees, event fees, optional service fees, asset preparation fees, ceremony-related fees, or other fees where applicable.

Payment of any fee does not guarantee Nominee, Gold Award, Grand Gold Award, registry placement, ceremony presentation, media coverage, business benefit, commercial result, or any specific outcome.

Entry fees support administrative handling, entry record processing, category alignment, review coordination, result documentation, and official record preparation where applicable.

Refunds, cancellations, transfer of entries, and fee adjustments are subject to IBA's applicable administrative policy or written confirmation.

Review

Review Process and Results

Applicants choose the recognition field. IBA determines the final distinction after review.

Possible recognition outcomes may include:

  • Nominee
  • Gold Award
  • Grand Gold Award

IBA may consider submitted materials, category fit, presentation quality, public references where available, professional context, relevance, and contribution.

IBA does not guarantee that any entry will receive recognition. IBA reserves the right to withhold public recognition, request clarification, decline entries, correct records, or update result handling where necessary.

IBA review is not an audience popularity ranking, certification, laboratory testing, regulatory approval, clinical validation, medical endorsement, professional licensing, or legal compliance certification.

Registry

Registry Records and Certificate References

Where applicable, recognized entries may be listed in the IBA Registry or receive certificate references.

Registry records may include entry name, recognition field, distinction level, award year, country or region, certificate reference, registry status, public profile information, approved wording, and related recognition information.

IBA reserves the right to correct, update, suspend, archive, or remove registry records where information is inaccurate, incomplete, disputed, misused, or inconsistent with IBA standards.

A registry record confirms an IBA recognition record. It does not constitute certification, laboratory testing, regulatory approval, clinical validation, medical endorsement, professional licensing, or legal compliance certification.

Brand Guide

Use of IBA Marks, Wording, and Recognition Assets

IBA names, marks, award marks, certificates, registry references, wording, graphics, and recognition assets may only be used according to the official result issued and the IBA Brand Guide.

Recipients must use the correct recognition level, recognition field, award year, and entry name.

Recipients must not:

  • Use an IBA mark for an unrelated product, service, branch, company, person, campaign, or future release;
  • Modify, distort, recolor, redraw, crop, rotate, or recreate IBA marks;
  • Use wording that states or implies IBA certification, IBA approval, clinical validation, or similar unsupported claims;
  • Imply regulatory, medical, legal, laboratory, professional, or governmental approval;
  • Transfer recognition to subjects not included in the official record.

IBA may request correction, removal, or suspension of mark usage where misuse occurs.

Users may not reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works from IBA materials without written permission, except where official recipient assets are provided and used according to the Brand Guide.

Submitted Materials

Use of Submitted Materials

By submitting materials to IBA, applicants grant IBA and its authorized representatives, service providers, media partners, and event partners a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use submitted materials for entry administration, review coordination, registry preparation, recognition publication, certificate preparation, event presentation, media communication, brand guide support, and related recognition activities where applicable.

Applicants represent that they have the necessary rights and permissions for submitted materials.

If certain materials should not be displayed publicly, applicants should notify IBA in writing before publication where possible.

Ceremonies, Dinners, and Regional Events

IBA or authorized regional representatives may organize ceremonies, recognition dinners, presentation events, media moments, or related activities.

Event participation is subject to invitation, availability, payment where applicable, venue rules, security requirements, scheduling, and event policies.
