Quick Answer

What Are the IBA Recognition Fields?

International Beauty Awards™ has six recognition fields: Beauty Professionals, Beauty Brands, Beauty Products, Beauty Salons & Centers, Beauty Supply Chain & Manufacturing, and Beauty Industry Services & Enablement. Each entry is submitted into one primary field and reviewed independently. The final distinction is determined by IBA as Nominee, Gold Award, or Grand Gold Award.

How to Choose

Start with the Subject, Not the Award Level

IBA does not ask applicants to choose an award level. The applicant first identifies the subject of recognition: a person, brand, product, salon, center, manufacturer, supplier, or industry service organization.

If one applicant has several subjects to recognize, each subject should be submitted as a separate entry.

One applicant may have many stories. Each entry should have one primary subject.
Subject

What exactly should be recognized?

Define the person, brand, product, location, production partner, or service organization before choosing a field.

Field

Which IBA recognition field best fits that subject?

Select the primary field that gives IBA the right context for reviewing the entry.

Outcome

IBA determines the final distinction after review.

The applicant does not select Nominee, Gold Award, or Grand Gold Award.

Multiple Identities

One Applicant Can Submit More Than One Entry

IBA recognizes that beauty businesses often carry more than one identity. A founder may be recognized as a professional. The same founder's company may submit a brand. The brand may submit a product. A salon group may submit a flagship center. Each subject should be entered separately when it deserves independent recognition.

Founder

Beauty Professionals

For the individual contribution and personal professional record.

Brand

Beauty Brands

For the wider brand identity and market expression.

Hero Product

Beauty Products

For one specific product, device, treatment, or innovation.

Flagship Salon

Beauty Salons & Centers

For a physical service destination or client-facing institution.

Multiple entries do not guarantee the same result. Each entry is reviewed independently within its selected field.

Common Confusion

When Two Fields Look Similar

Use these comparisons to decide what the entry is really asking IBA to recognize.

Founder vs Brand

If the achievement belongs to the person, choose Beauty Professionals.

If the achievement belongs to the brand identity, choose Beauty Brands.

Brand vs Product

If the whole brand is being recognized, choose Beauty Brands.

If one specific product is being recognized, choose Beauty Products.

Salon vs Brand

If the physical service location is being recognized, choose Beauty Salons & Centers.

If the wider brand concept is being recognized, choose Beauty Brands.

Manufacturer vs Product

If the production company or capability is being recognized, choose Beauty Supply Chain & Manufacturing.

If a specific finished product is being recognized, choose Beauty Products.

Training Expert vs Training Company

If the individual educator is being recognized, choose Beauty Professionals.

If the academy, platform, or service organization is being recognized, choose Beauty Industry Services & Enablement.

After Selection

The Field Guides the Review Context

The selected field helps IBA understand how the entry should be considered. A product, a professional, a salon, and a manufacturer cannot be reviewed through the same lens. Each field provides the context for reviewing category fit, substance, expression, relevance, and contribution.

01

Category Fit

The selected field and the primary subject should align clearly.

02

Substance

The submitted record should show meaningful detail and credible context.

03

Expression

The entry should be presented with clarity, coherence, and professional care.

04

Relevance

The field establishes the market, client, professional, or industry context.

05

Contribution

The review considers the role the entry plays within the beauty ecosystem.

Responsible Recognition

Recognition with Clear Boundaries

IBA recognition is an award-based honor within the International Beauty Awards™ framework. It is designed to recognize and record beauty achievement through submitted materials, category relevance, public references where available, and professional context.
